Prior to the initial consultation, you will recieve a questionnaire, which you will be required to complete and return one week before your consultation. This enables the practitioner to analyse the questionnaire and to familiarise herself with your individual case. The questionnaire will help the practitioner to prioritise your needs and support recommendations for the optimum nutritional strategy and lifestyle changes. Receipt of the questionnaire in advance also enables the practitioner to maximise the time with the client.
Be prepared that an initial consultation may take between one and one and a half hours depending on the complexity of your case. When appropriate, functional tests including intolerance testing, hormone analysis, urine and digestive stool tests are offered to find out exactly how your body is functioning. A good diet is always at the core of the recommendations, but nutritional supplements may be recommended to help resolve any nutritional imbalances.
During the initial consultation you will receive:
- Dietary and lifestyle recommendations
- An appointment for your follow up consultation
You will be sent a written report after the consultation outlining any recommended supplementation and suggested functional tests, which will have been discussed at your consultation.
During your initial consultation, a follow up consultation will be diarised for 6 to 8 weeks time. These last between 45 minutes and one hour. During this time the results of any tests that have been carried out will be discussed. In addition supplement and dietary changes that have been implemented will also be discussed and adjusted as necessary, taking account of relevant test results.
Follow-up consultations are usually necessary to help achieve your goals in manageable stages and to alter your programme as your health and fitness improve. The number of sessions needed will depend on each individual case.
